High Street Actress Lands Broadway Role
Emma Howard, who has been performing on various stages since the age of four, has been cast in the Broadway muscial Matilda. Before her Broadway debut, Emma who played Jojo in High Street’s Seussical, appeared in over 35 stage productions in Southern California also including Glendale Centre Theatre, MET2, E.S.C.A.P.E. Theater, Santa Clarita Regional Theater, Conejo Players Theater, and Canyon Theater Guild and High Street Arts Center.
Emma loves to dance and was taking 18 hours per week of group and private dance instruction before Broadway called. Her forays into competitive dance have garnered her numerous high-point awards including Top Junior Dancer-Overall, Top Junior Dancer-Jazz Category and Top Junior Dancer–Lyrical Category at the Showstopper Dance Competition. She has worked with such noted choreographers as Wildabeast, Jeffery Page, Peter Darling, Andy Blankenbuehler, Parker Esse, Sonya Tayeh, Lajon Dantzler and Matt Williams
She was a student at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and has attended New York City’s Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). She is a proud alumna of the prestigious Broadway Artists Alliance program in New York City.
