It’s the fabulous 60′s and the sound coming out of Detroit has the whole world dancing. Based on the aspirations and successes of R&B acts like The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown, Jackie Wilson and others, the show won six Tony Awards and two Grammy in 1982. Twenty-six years later the film won two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes and another Grammy.
