The Producers

May 31 - July 07, 2013

“Under the right circumstances, you could make more money with a flop than with a hit.” That’s all down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock needs to hear. With the help of mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom, he is off to produce the biggest flop in Broadway history, “Springtime for Hitler”.

This is Mel Brooks’ hilarious movie, which inspired a Broadway smash, then another Hollywood blockbuster.   Bialystock & Bloom scheme to get rich quick while bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. What could possibly go wrong?  They have the worst script, the worst director, the worst cast and everything is going to plan until …

THE PRODUCERS skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!”  Winner if a record twelve Tony Awards, this is outrageous, in-your-face non-stop hysterics.
